LG’s fourth, yes, fourth high-end smartphone of 2018 has just been unveiled, looking similar to the V30S ThinQ, G7 ThinQ, and V35 ThinQ while sporting a grand total of five cameras, but if you want something a little less steeply-priced from the company, a certain 2017 flagship may deserve a second chance.The well-reviewed LG G6 hardly set the world on fire with its processing speed and sales numbers 18 months ago, scoring sweet discount after discount as it grew older and even less appealing for Android power users.
It’s almost impossible to argue with the new all-time low price hit by an unlocked G6 over at B&H Photo Video, although you do need to keep in mind a few important things. First, you can only get the phone at $329.99 in “Ice Platinum.”
Second, this is the H870 “international” variant, so CDMA support for Verizon or Sprint is obviously out of the question. GSM compatibility with T-Mobile or AT&T shouldn’t be a problem, though.
Finally, because these are international units, they cannot be registered in the US “Second Year Promise” program. Still, B&H will give you a limited 1-year warranty, which is not something you usually get on eBay or other such places with “international” phones.
All that being said, the LG G6 is a whole lot of phone for a measly 330 bucks. Its large 5.7-inch screen comes with a modern 2:1 aspect ratio and impressively thin bezels, not to mention stunning 2880 x 1440 resolution.
The aluminum-and-glass body is not only water and dust-resistant, but shock-resistant as well. The Snapdragon 821 processor is paired with a respectable 4GB RAM and 32GB internal storage, while a 3,300 mAh battery should be able to keep the lights on for a reasonable period of time. Last but not least, the G6 also features dual 13MP rear-facing cameras with standard and wide-angle sensors.
