Tommy Edison, also known as the Blind Film Critic, has been blind since birth. Tommy reviews films, has over 20 years experience as a radio professional, and more recently, produces online videos that seem to strike the perfect balance between humorous and informative while giving viewers a glimpse into his life.About a week ago Tommy released two videos that show what a blind person’s experience on the iPhone 4S is like. The first is entitled “How Blind People Use the iPhone 4S.” He takes us through some of the accessibility features available on the iPhone 4S and shows in depth the one he relies on the most - the voice over feature. Using the voice over features and assistance from Siri, Tommy is able to use a touchscreen device just like anyone else. As you can see in the video below, he is able to quickly and effectively read and send Tweets though Twitter and navigate through YouTube. Video Thumbnail

Overall Tommy’s videos are a testament to how well the iPhone handles accessibility. The addition of Siri makes it even easier for those with visual impairments to perform tasks, that most of us do daily on our mobile devices without a second thought, that may otherwise prove to be extremely difficult or impossible.
